Where I’m from we only have two seasons: rainy season and dry season. We don’t get to see red leaves fall down tress, and we don’t get to experience the wonders of winter. What am I talking about? I hate this weather! I do love winter activities, which somehow always include food and cozy knits, and if I’m lucky, some cuddling. I’d love some hot chocolate right about now. Followed by some cuddling.
The day we took these pictures I wasn’t in the mood. As you know, I don’t do very well in the cold. Which is why you haven’t been seeing many recent outfit posts lately. I love you, but I don’t love you enough to stand outside all afternoon taking photos like I used to during the summer. Sorry! However, I’m glad I joined my friend Jose because I got to see a place I had always wanted to visit in Manhattan: The Cloisters. The Cloisters is a small medieval museum inside of Fort Tyrone Park in Washington Heights. The museum itself is interesting (though I’m more of a performing arts gal myself) but it was the walk from the train station to the museum that was breathtaking. It was a cold winter afternoon, it has just snowed the night before, and the park was deserted, giving it an air of mystery and enchantment.
I was cold, I’m not going to lie, but I was definitely not as cold as I thought I would be. I was wearing Uniqlo’s Heattech shirt, which has proven to be a trusty companion during the winter. I have 4 shirts, but my favorite is the crew neck (like the one I’m wearing here and you’ve seen me wear the black one here). This Michael Kors fur also kept me warm, and I was wearing cropped tights under my jeans. The only parts that were getting cold were my hands, feet and face. You’ll see in the pictures how my ears are red. In this cold, sometimes I worry about my body’s little protuberances.
