What to Wear in Las Vegas at night

Here I am, dreaming of warmer weather. I have a friend visiting Vegas soon and she asked me what to wear, so I thought I’d give her an illustrated guide, here on the blog.

I’ve only been to Vegas once, but boy, did I go to Vegas. I went with two girl friends, and in case you didn’t know, girls are the queens of Vegas. I found Las Vegas to be a city of excess, like Disney World for adults. Every one was there to gamble, to party, to drink… I went to pool parties in bikini- and heels! It was insane, and it was awesome. I definitely cannot do that again.

For those of you with an unpopped Vegas cherry, below are some of the things you can wear in Las Vegas!

Heels on heels on heels

All the girls are doing it in Vegas, and so should you! Obviously, after a few hours of dancing your poor feet are gonna hurt. I saw a lot of girls walking around barefoot in hotel lobbies in the wee hours of the morning. This is not only unsanitary, but also not very classy. So what’s a girl to do? Get some foldable flats and stash them in your clutch, of course. I like to rock the ones from Kushyfoot– they’re only $9.99! If you still need some help, check out this post where I tell you how to make heels more comfortable.

If you go to a pool party, you don’t have to wear heels, but I wasn’t gonna pass up the opportunity to wear mine with a bathing suit! I didn’t have any pretty wedges, but I didn’t have any problems with my platform sandals.

I had full hair and makeup because I knew I wasn’t gonna actually get in the pool. I was there to see and be seen, I wasn’t there to

Dresses

Girls are the queens of Vegas, but there are a lot of girls. A lot of hot girls. So be sure you look the part by dressing to impress. You’re gonna see a lot of tacky, short, tight, shiny dresses, but you could also wear something a a little classier and look just as hot. Also, how can I say this…mmmm….WEAR UNDERWEAR!!! ESPECIALLY IF YOU’RE GONNA DANCE ON TABLES!!! Yes yes, Vegas is all about excess, but in this digital era you really can’t afford to have your hoo-ha online now, can you?

Dignity

Just kidding, I’m not judging. But seriously, Vegas can be very overwhelming at times. And the fact that you’re probably drinking most of the day can cloud your judgment and you may make some really bad decisions. Know your limits. Don’t get peer pressured into doing something you don’t want to do, and don’t think “this is Vegas, this is supposed to happen.” You can always say no. Remember that not all that happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.

If you’re going to gamble, be sure to give yourself a budget and not get carried away. Usually when you’re gambling you get free drinks, don’t forget to tip your waitress, and keep in mind that if you’re too intoxicated and making trouble, you will be asked to leave.

Of course, if you can’t afford a trip to Vegas, or you’re just not into the whole dresses-and-heels thing, you can always go to one of the massively popular online casinos like Ruby Fortune and maybe hit the jackpot to finally be able to afford that vacation you really want!
