POPSUGAR Must Have: my honest review.

Today I’m reviewing the POPSUGAR Must Have subscription box. Subscription boxes seem pretty cool; you pay a certain amount of money each month, and every month you receive a box in the mail with some fun surprises. I personally don’t have a monthly box subscription, so I was excited to review September’s POPSUGAR Must Have box.

First, the basics. The POPSUGAR Must Have box will cost you $39.95 each month, or you can save money by subscribing for three or six months. It includes items hand-selected by POPSUGAR editors. The items range from fashion pieces, to home and decor, and everything in between. If you’re interested in trying it out, use the code SEPT14SELECT to save $10 on a 3-month subscription. The code is available until 9/30, at 11:59 p.m.

Tilo Scarf in Raisin. $125. Beautiful fabric, wrong color for me. I’ve told you before that is important to put flattering colors near your face, if I wear this brown and gray I would look washed out and sick. It’s a shame, since the fabric is really very nice. Too thin to be a winter scarf, but good for Fall!

Nicole Miller Stereo Earbuds. $20. I love these! They come with three ear-caps to fit all ears, ’cause not all are created the same, apparently. I can’t live one day without listening to music on the go, so these are just perfect. My favorite item in the box!

Urban Remedy Almond Brownie. $6. I was so excited to try this I opened it up before reading the package. I took a little bit, put it in my mouth…and almost spit it out again. I thought “this tastes like some of that gluten free, flavor free organic stuff,” and upon further inspection, it was indeed all of those things- plus, it’s all raw! This was by far my least favorite thing in the box. This was a great item for everyone who does suffer from gluten allergies, though- so hats off to POPSUGAR for including something for everybody in their Must Have box.

Oribe Superfine Purse Size Hair Spray. $21.50. I wore this last night to a concert and my curls are still intact today! Great product! Will definitely be coming with me on my next travels.

Letter C Design Gold Foil Arrow Pencils. $5. These were really cute, but I can’t remember when was the last time I used a pencil. I thought it was very useful that it came with a pencil sharpener, because I don’t think I have one that’s not for eyeliner pencils. I’ll probably send this to my niece in elementary school- they still use pencils in elementary schools, right?

Rifle Paper Co. Garance Doré Assorted Girls Set. $18. Really lovely blank cards and envelopes. They have four different, fashionable illustrations by Garance Doré. I’ve always enjoyed sending hand-written thank you notes, so these will definitely come in handy!

The September box also included these two extras:

Nike $20 gift card. Came with a fun neon measuring tape, so you can take your measurements and buy the perfect sports bra for yourself. The gift card can be used with anything at Nike, though, and it includes a 2-day free shipping coupon code. I’m not really into sportswear, so I gave the gift card to my boyfriend. I kept the tape for myself.

Popsugar Must Have

Ghirardelli Milk Chocolate Sea Salt & Almond Minis. So much better than the brownie, still, not the best chocolate I’ve had from Ghirardelli.

FINAL VERDICT ON THE POPSUGAR MUST HAVE BOX: It’s hard to judge the Must Have box after checking out just one box. I think a lot of these items are cute, and are things I would have never bought myself, but would I spend $40 a month in a box of surprises? Probably not; I don’t like surprises. I give this month’s POPSUGAR Must Have box three out of five stars. I would have given it four, but I had to take out a whole star for that brownie.
