Remember a while back I shot a video with Pantene Pro-V? No? Well, you better go check it out here, and see some more pics here! On day One I met a fab MUA (that’s industry slang for Makeup Artist, FYI) who is sharing some of her secrets today. I had some questions myself but also took some questions some of you posted in my previous makeup posts. Read what she had to say and don’t forget to check out her site!

What should I put on first, foundation or concealer?

I usually like applying concealer and then foundation. I find that by applying this way the concealer lasts longer + it gives you more coverage. Don’t forget to set it with powder once you done with your foundation.

How can I make my small eyes look bigger?

If you want to make your eyes look bigger, stay away from using dark eyeshadows all over your eye, use soft, neutral instead. Remember: Dark reduces Light: enhances.

What’s the #1 mistake women make when applying makeup?

Not being aware of how important skin care is. Know what to apply on the skin before you apply any makeup. Start by moisturizing, tone and hydrate the skin. You will be amazed at how better your makeup application looks, but most importantly, how it feels!

What’s the best way to hide a pimple?

There are a few things to take into consideration when you want to hide a pimple, again know what type of skin you have. I usually conceal by applying directly on the pimple, then go around it with my index finger to spread some of the product, then pat powder to set in product.

How can I pick the right shade of foundation/concealer for me?

Start by sampling a bit on your chin and bring down to your neck area, if the color disappears and blends well on the skin you got yourself a winner ! :)

Thank you, Marina, for all the tips!
