L’OREAL PARIS MAKEUP TUTORIAL AND GIVEAWAY, whoop whoop! I’m very happy to share with you this makeup tutorial with awesome pictures by my friend Beto Ramos, using products from a brand who loves empowering women. I’m so happy to team up with L’Oreal for the first time, and to tell you just how incredibly proud I am to be a Latina.

We all know L’Oreal Paris’ motto: Because You’re Worth It, or in Spanish #PorqueTuLoVales. We women are worth so much, and we deserve so much more! I’ve discussed many times before what it means, to me, to be a woman (check out this post, entitled Playboy), and even what it means to be a Latin woman; and now I’m going to tell you, quite simply, why I’m worth it:

– I’m worth it because I know not to put my happiness in the hands of someone else; especially not a man. Only I can make myself happy, everyone else just adds to my joy.

– I’m worth it because I work hard to achieve my dreams.

– I’m worth it because it took me years, but I finally learned how to love myself.

– I’m worth it because looking good makes me feel good. Thanks for the love, L’Oreal Paris!

– I’m worth it because I learned that if something makes me happy and I’m not hurting anybody, I’m going to do it. Follow your bliss!

– I’m worth it because I’m a hard-working, well-studied Latina woman who is breaking through stereotypes. A Latina who is proud of her roots, proud of her culture, and proud of herself.

To help celebrate and empower Latinas, L’Oreal Paris has launched a new Latina Destination, where you can go find all the tools you need to be yourself through beauty inspiration and education. There are many great tips on how to style yourself this holiday season, and get party ready with L’Oreal Pris! You can also have some fun with the Makeup Genius app, which lets you try on products and makeup looks just by taking a selfie. Fun! This look is The Rocker, but I had go to easy on the eyeliner, you’ll see why below!

I’m very happy to be hosting a giveaway of Miss Manga mascara, Silkissime eye liner, three Colour Riche eye shadow palettes, and the Visible Lift Blur Blush. Scroll down to enter, and may the odds be ever in your favor!

L'Oreal Get The Look

1. Apply foundation and concealer

L'Oreal Paris True MatchI like to apply my foundation either using my hands or a sponge. I’m still holding on (for dear life) to a bit of a tan from the summer, so I used L’Oreal Paris True Match in suntan W 5.5. In the upcoming months I will go down a shade or two.  Don’t forget to apply foundation to your neck too! For concealer I used True Match in N4-5. I don’t know if you can see it on the pic, but I like to apply concealer in an inverted triangle shape, and blend in a downward motion, sticking to the triangle shape. This gives your face more dimension.

2. Apply light eyeshadow

LOrealParis2For this look I used the Colour Riche eyeshadow palette in 240 Treasured Bronze. It comes with a handy guide in the back as to where to use each shade, taking the guesswork out of a smokey eye. I applied the 2nd to lightest shade on my moving eyelid and my lower lashes.

3. Apply eyeshadow to crease

LOrealParis3The middle shadow goes on your crease, for this you will want a smaller brush.

4. Apply darkest shadow as liner

LOrealParis4The darkest shadow is to be used as a liner, in both your upper and lower lashes, using an even smaller brush. Because I have small eyes I only applied it on one third of my lower lash line, to make my eye look bigger.

5. Use lightest shadow as highlighter

LOrealParis6The lightest shadow is a highlighter for your brow arch, and you can use the little applicator in the palette to highlight the inside corner of your eye.

6. Apply eyeliner

LOrealParis5I used L’Oreal Paris Infallible Silkissime Eye Liner in Charcoal to line my top and bottom lashes. Again, because of my small eyes I only lined the outer third of my lower lash lines, and not inside my waterline.

7. Define your brows

LOrealParis7This is a very important step many women overlook- eyebrows are the frames of your face! I used a brown eyeshadow, one shade lighter than my natural brows, and just filled them in as needed. In the pictures on the right you can see the difference between a defined and a natural brow.

8. Curl your lashes and apply mascara

LOrealParis8Curling your lashes instantly opens of your eye! I applied three coats (I’m extreme) of L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Miss Manga mascara, which also comes in the cutest package ever, in both my top and bottom lashes.

9. Contour your pretty face

LOrealParis9

Use a contour brush and bronzer to define your features. I like to define my cheekbones by doing a fishy face and contouring away. It’s also good to contour your jawline and the sides of your nose, especially if you’re going to be taking pictures, since pictures are one-dimensional, you want to give your pretty face a bit more depth.

10. Add the lipstick of your choice

LOrealParis10For a natural look I used the Colour Riche Balm in Rose Elixir 218, which gave me just a hint of pink and left my lips very moisturized.

LOrealParis11For a more rockstar look, I wore Colour Riche Extraordinaire Lip Color in Scarlet Concerto.

Which looks is your fave?
