How to do Black Friday
After my birthday, Black Friday is my favorite day of the year. Remember that stores and fitting rooms will be crowded with shoppers who, just like you, are trying to save some money this holiday season; so be prepared! Follow my simple plan and you’ll have an advantage over those not-so-savvy shoppers.
DO decide on a budget and stick with it. Get the amount in cash so you can see how much you’re spending.
DO make a list of what it is you need: presents, a holiday dress, etc.
DO check the stores’ websites for store hours and sales. That way you know not to waste your time going to a store which doesn’t have what you’re looking for.
If you have the time between today and tomorrow DO stop by the store where you want to shop, visualize where the items are and try on what you want.
DO get there early. The best deals are usually door buster deals, which start at around 5 a.m.
DO wear something comfortable that you can take off and put on quickly. Same goes for shoes.
DO shop in groups, that way some of you can browse while the others make the line for the fitting room.
DON’T buy anything that’s not on sale. I don’t understand why people do this. The great thing about Black Friday is the sales. If you want to buy something at regular price come back another day when the stores are less crowded.
Remember that you have until the end of December to shop. What’s not on sale during Black Friday might be on sale a couple of weeks before Christmas.
