Because I’m a Fashion Blogger.

A New York Fashion Week post from the eyes of a fashion blogger. Getting into the tents at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week is no easy task. FW is not open to the public, which means you have to be in some way related to the fashion industry. Buyers (those are the people who buy certain pieces or who looks from designer’s collectios for their stores, like Neiman Marcus, for example), stylists (the people who dress the models for magazines like Vogue, aka, my former career), fashion writers/editors (people who review shows and collections for style.com or WWD, for instance), and of course, celebs, have priority when it comes to snagging a Fashion Week invite.  Unfortunately, fashion bloggers are at the bottom of the totem pole in the hierarchy of Fashion Week.

The best way for a fashion blogger to get invited to individual shows and event happening throughout Fashion Week is by having a good working relationship with a brand, or the firms doing their Public Relations. I was able to attend so many shows thanks for Yahoo De Moda, with whom I’ve worked a few times. Check out my updated PRESS section right below the banner to see some of our fun projects! About the outfit:  This is one of my fave FW outfits. I got this tee earlier this year for IFBcon (see me rocking it during the winter here). This shirt is always a big hit, mostly with bloggers, as you can imagine. The pencil skirt (remember how I’ve been obsessed with them lately?) I bought in Los Angeles from Charlotte Russe. The shoes are also from Charlotte Russe. They are my fave summer shoes and I’m sad to put them away for the winter. You’ve seen this fashion blogger rock them here, along with another fashion blogger from the West Coast.

Oh yeah, you may notice something different about me in these pictures. How do we feel about the bangs? I’ve been wanting to try something new for a while, but every time I told someone I want to chop off my hair and get a bob 99% of the time I get the same reaction: “NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!” So, I gave bangs a chance. I really like them, they make me feel sexy and mysterious. Leave me a comment below with your thoughts! :)

I likey likely the bob. The change is a good look. Kudos to Charlotte Russe for the cool skirt and shoes; however, the T can go – not really into LOUD profanity. But what do I know, I’m not a F’n blogger! :)
